Message: Hey everyone!! It is coming down to the wire and we are getting anxoius. Let's pray for God to relieve our anxiety and to let Him take control of our thoughts and minds. "I want to be Your hands, I want to be Your feet. I'll go where you send me." (Audio Adrenaline) We can't wait to grow closer to all of you. We are going to need each other! We love you guys!!! Message: Well kids, time is approaching. I know God couldn't have picked a better team to go and serve Him. Pray for boldness and courage to be ambassadors for Christ and not be afraid to spread the Good News not just in Africa, but every day. It is a blessing to be able to go to another country and tell others about God, but remember that maybe your classmate or neighbor doesn't know God just like the Tanzania folks. If you need encouragement to be a better witness, read Acts and see how a bunch of unschooled, ordinary men and women reach out to others just by teaching Jesus to one another. Believe in the power of the Spirit and it will shine out of you like a fireball. I love you guys and admire your dedication to go and serve our God. Peace out, like a bean sprout. Sparky

Message: WOW! Can you believe in less than 3 weeks (20 days to be exact) we will all be stepping on a plane headed for what some like to call the dark continent...funny though because I think the Son is going to shine pretty brightly this summer. I am amazed at the people God has chosen to use in Moshi. When I look at each of you, I see godly men and women with hearts overflowing with love and a willingness to serve. I cannot wait to see how God develops those skills and talents. I know without a doubt that really powerful things are going to happen this summer. Although it may seem scary to us sometimes, you can bet that Satan is the one who will be running scared when all of this is said and done. And even so the view from the other side will be so worth whatever trails and tribulations we may endure....In years to come you will be telling stories of the bazar things the happened to you in Africa. People will look at you in amazement, shaking their heads as they say the famous words "I could never do that." At that moment you will pause and think back to that very first moment that Africa captured your heart and you will smile...Your about to learn a secret. Africa isn't about you making a decision to go, but about God giving you the privilage to serve Him there. Only a hand full of God's people will ever be blessed with an opportunity like this. You are his chosen vessals. That is such a gift. And the impact that will be made on your heart will last far longer than a summer. It is something that will be with you everyday of your life.

Message: Jonathan, Bill, Aleesha, Catherine, Colin, Keith, Marlo, Vanessa, Thomas, Justin, Erika, and Katy:

Back in October of last year, I could not have even imagined that our team would be so big and so prepared!
I am really excited for us. You have already displayed a lot of faith and dedication to this trip. I believe that you will be blessed for sacrificing your summer to do this difficult mission...but I also know we are going to have lots of fun and make lifelong friendships. I believe that God will use this summer to teach you things that many people never learn -- like how truely blessed we are to have toliet paper. HA-HA. So many fun times ahead !!!

Shana and Garth: I am so happy that you will return again. Your friendships are very important to me and I could hardly imagine a summer in Moshi, TZ without you around.

Ruth: The babies will miss you! We are sad. :-(

Message: Hey, guys. I think it is real important, now that we have about a month to go before we leave, to pray even harder that God blesses our efforts. I know that in order to grow spiritually there, we also need to begin to grow here. I believe we already are. The morning devos are like fuel for me for my day. I hope soon that we will all get to be together at one, as a whole team. So, let's discipline ourselves about going to bed! I enjoy the diversness of our team. We are all so different. But we have one thing in common, and that is our Christianity and a heart to be servants. I love you all and I can't wait to spend a summer with you.

Message: Here's some encouraging thoughts for the team (hopefully!)

the christian life is a continual journey to new lows of greatness. His call is simple... humble yourself and become as small as you are so that Christ in you can be as big as He is. with the world, all the glory is in getting up. with God, it's all in getting down. After all, Christ came down.
the first painful step in becoming small is to admit that we all want to be big. we spend so much of our lives trying to puff ourselves up in our own eyes and the eyes of others. the second step is to accept the reality that we really are itty-bitty. to be small is to be what we are...tiny little finite specks whose greatness is solely derived by the truth that we are prized and loved by an infinite God. God loves little people. He hates those who climb the ladder of self, exalting themselves, when in truth, He's the only one who really matters. what a waste of time to try to be big on our own. After all, God doesn't need any stars, except the kind that lead people to Jesus. but, God loves to use thelittle guy to show off His mighty power. May prayers be lifted up for all of us continually.Loving God and His creation, Keith

Message: Hamjambo (I think!) Obviously I am a little computer illiterate because it took forever for me to get this to work. Like three times so there will be messages that do not say anything. I just wanted to let everyone know how excited I am about us all getting to go spread God's word together and that I am praying hard for all of you in your spiritual walks. Please pray for me also. Here is this week's update: School is now finished for both Mwenge and Muungano. Yeasterday, we had our graduation ceremony at Muungano. It was fantastic! Mwenge will have graduation July 12th. Saturday begins our vacation week. Some people are going to climb Kili. Others will go to Zanzibar, a safari, Nairobi or stay in Moshi. I think that everyone is feeling well. We will be home in less than three weeks. Robert Claypool

Hamjambo (Hi Everyone), We are all feeling much better now. Everyone is back to good health. On Saturday, several people hiked to a nearby waterfall on the side of Kilimanjaro (a day hike). It was great! Then, we went to El Rancho for an Indian Cusine later that night. At El Rancho, they had a campfire perpared so we sang and prayed around the fire after our meal. On Sunday, Ryan and Lynda Hammitt had their 18th wedding anniversary. Pat, Shana, Ruth, Jeff and I had Sunday lunch with Abdule and his family. He has been coming to Sunday services but the and his family are Muslim. Today, (Monday) Leslie, Ashley, Grant, and I are having dinner at Hussain's house. He is also Islamic. Jake, Grant, Jeff, Joshua, and James are continuing to meet regularly with the Rastarfarians (sp). We have learned that it is a cult-like religion that tries to incorporate Jesus. The school is continuing to run well. On Saturday, the Aggies will return to Nairobi, Kenya. We will miss them. We are all very busy...I have only mentioned the things I happen to know about. I'm sure that other good work is beginning and continuining that I am not yet aware of. God Bless, Robert

Greetings again from Tanzania! We had a very good safari this past weekend. At Ngorongoro, we saw hundreds of wildebeeste, zebra and flamingoes. Also, we saw 5 elephants 4 or 5 lions, many buffalo and 1 rino. The Aggies went to Lake Manyara and saw giraffe and a few other animals. The Lipscomb folks went to a snake farm and Arusha. I got to hold a 4ft python and ride a angry camel! Now, we are back to working with the kids and many Bible studies are going on at night. One study is with a group of "Rast-a-farian" (I can't spell it) Christians. They believe in Jesus Christ but have radically different "interpertations" of scripture. Many of us (about 7 or 8 now) are sick. We will be okay, but running the school is difficult as many people are not able to teach. Erycka, a student from Texas A&M, went to the hospital because she fainted twice. Leslie was very sick but is getting better. I have a sore throat. About 4 people got sick from bad food at a local resturant, I think. Tomorrow (Thursday, 15th) is a local holiday here so we have no school. Thanks for your prayers. Pray for our health and our studies especially this week. Send any questions my way. In Christ, Robert

Hello friends and family! I am actually viewing the website from Tanzania! We are doing great, yeasterday was our first day of school. On Saturday, 20 students from Texas A&M arrived to help us with the English/Bible program. It is a blessing to have them here because, with their help, we can operate two schools: Mwenge and Muungano. Right now, I am on our lunch break...everything is running very smoothly and the school supervisors are very supportive of our program. They thank us continually. We are all happy and healthy -- All 40+ of us!!! Thanks for your prayers. I will try to post a note on this page once a week. God Bless, Robert PS. The e-mail situation is that we can recieve any text messages you send. We can mail back about once every 3-4 days. With 40 people and one computer, that is the best we can hope for. PSS Any questions? post them and I will try to answer next time I check the page
